Timescales for Immigration matters

Top9 Solicitors generally aim to complete the preparation of your immigration application within 14 working days, but only once:

we have received all the supporting documents they have requested from you; and
you have paid their legal fees and any other relevant fees in full, where payment is required.

The 14 working days are therefore not necessarily counted from the day you first instruct them. They start once they have everything they need and the required payment has been made.

We also make clear that:

complicated cases can take longer than 14 working days; and
they say they will keep you updated throughout the relevant stages.

Once you provide everything we need and pay the required fees, we normally expect to have your application prepared within 14 working days, although complex cases may take longer.

We cannot commit to a specific decision date or processing time as the Home Office cannot give you a definite timeframe for deciding your application because the decision time depends on their internal processes and the circumstances of each individual case.

If the Home Office has not made a decision within six months of the date you provided your biometric information (photograph and fingerprints), we may be able to make further representations on your behalf challenging the delay in deciding your case.
